The European Bank for Induced Pluripotent Stem Cells (EBiSC) is proud to share its latest publication, “Existing human biobank collections should be exploited to improve ethnic diversity in iPSC research” (PubMed ID: 38943497).
In this study, EBiSC highlights the pressing need to improve ancestral representation in iPSC resources and as a result of this has introduced a curated panel of control iPSC lines from ancestrally diverse backgrounds. These lines provide a valuable starting point for researchers seeking to better reflect global genetic diversity in disease modelling and drug discovery.
To help close this gap, EBiSC welcomes the donation of iPSC lines derived from underrepresented populations. By working together, we can make stem cell research more inclusive, reproducible, and relevant to all.
